Middle School | grades 5-8
Naturally, middle school students are held to a higher standard of learning. As they master material, these students are challenged to think critically and collaborate with others as they work to internalize information and apply the information to their own lives and the world at large.
The Middle School Method
Mastering Material
Middle school students are expected to advance beyond rote memorization of material. They are encouraged to think broader and dream bigger as they are prepared for lives of service, purpose, and impact.
Thinking Critically
It is one thing to absorb information, but it is quite another to question it. Middle school students are encouraged to delve deeper into their academic journey in a way that goes far beyond natural inclinations and the status quo.
Collaborating with Peers
Lives aren't isolated. Real-world work involves interacting, cooperating, and collaborating with others. Middle school students work with peers to accomplish goals and complete projects, preparing them for a life working with people from many different ideologies and beliefs.
The Educational Environment
Middle school classrooms are ones that challenge students to be active participants in their own intellectual development by asking questions, engaging in discussion, and drawing conclusions that may or may not be of the popular opinion. We encourage middle schoolers to push, prod, and process until they accrue the information needed to successfully interpret, infer, and apply information.
